Painting?

One day I got an urge to attempt painting, so I called up my friend CDLR( his work was in one of our recent posts) and asked him if he add any extra paints/ brushes?  He ended up giving me about five or six little tubes of acrylic, I picked up a canvas board and this is what came out.

I named it "To My Hero" at the last minute before giving it to my Mom haha

I guess with no idea what the hell to do with paint, I attempted to capture some aspect of self -empowerment and the endless possibilities/ strength we have as we fight as one.  A person like my mom can find strength from within and from the Lord during times when peace is only a memory and is able to find direction in chaos.  I chose to represent this with a more Black Power Era-esque character because I love this history and colored her green so we can all relate to her.  I guess it got too serious so I had to lighten it up with the other ish lol

                                               "Don't call me Sagittarius "

The 2nd painting I did had to be way more mythical, I told myself and somewhat corny!
So, this is what came of those personal requirements.

This one addresses the bone I have to pick with the world that we live in that is so consumed by the idea of living in accordance to their sign!  Lets face it, people are obsessed with what their horoscope tells them, who they are compatible with, who they should hate, how they should act, and the list goes on.  Fuck that!!! BE YOURSELF AND WRITE YOUR OWN HISTORY.  You are only enslaving yourself based on the time of the year in which you began, what could be, a free life.

With my rant all done now, this silly painting attempts to portray a creature (yes one very like the one that supposedly represents those born in December, like Damar and I) trying with all of his might to escape the pollution of this world.  The pollution and evil not limited to the physical, but the pollution of the mind as well.  He breaks the shackles man puts on himself and reaches for the stars that have long since died...
