HISTORY !!

A former member of the band Holy Shit with Ariel Pink and Matt Fishbeck,^[2] in an interview with Exclaim! magazine, Owens related much of how being part of the Children of God cult informed his childhood and his music. While there, he was not allowed to listen to music from outside the group, but was allowed to watch movies from which he absorbed music like Queen and Guns N' Roses. Girls' album is an "overflow of expression", as Owens could do whatever he liked on the album without worry for boundaries.^[3]

The band started working on their début's follow-up in May 2010, although they continue touring.

 I just got done browsing a FADER magizine and this band really caught my eye 1. because i love (sf) and they reside there they seem like dirt bags and reminds me of when i was in The Recovery Act , from doing meaningless drugs and just partying none stop. I guess you can say i see a lil bit of me in Ariel and Matt ! My favorite thing Ariel said in this interview was "you can die MAD AND MEAN " or you can say there's good things going on in the world' ! .......... and im a firm believer in that .
